About Me:
Esther Munene, the founder of Destiny Shapers Foundation, is a dedicated educator and entrepreneur. A graduate of Kenyatta University with a degree in Education, Esther’s journey began with her entrepreneurial ventures, running student tuck shops to support her own education. Driven by a desire to make a meaningful impact on the lives of children, she established Destiny Shapers Foundation after witnessing the pressing need for educational access in the slums.
Her early experiences working in impoverished areas reminded her of her own childhood struggles, where her family faced challenges in meeting basic needs, particularly education. Esther is deeply passionate about economic empowerment and advocates for a family-centered approach to addressing children’s social issues.
As a former high school teacher and pioneer of Peter Kibukosya Secondary School, Esther brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in project management, particularly in slum areas. Her extensive network and partnership-building skills have been instrumental in the success of her initiatives. In addition to her bachelor’s degree in Education, she holds a diploma in Basic Christian Counseling and is currently pursuing a Master’s in Special Education.
