How We Started

Our Journey Since 2013

Destiny Shapers began in 2013 in Korogocho, Nairobi’s fourth-largest informal settlement, with a single daily meal for 23 children. It has since grown into a full basic-education programme for learners from Daycare through Class 6, backed by a team that has grown from a handful of volunteers to 17 staff and volunteers today.

WHO WE ARE

Shaping Children, Strengthening Families

“A disciplined, independent and morally upright society” — that is the future Destiny Shapers Global Foundation exists to build, one child and one family at a time.

Our Mission

Holistic development of children and communities through education, health, empowerment, mentorship and sport.

Our Vision

A transformed Korogocho — every child with a foundation to rise, and every parent equipped to sustain that progress.

Our Core Values

• Stewardship
• Respect for All
• Accountability
• Servanthood
• Compassion

OUR TRANSITION

From CBO to NGO

For over a decade, Destiny Shapers operated as a Community Based Organisation—registered locally, rooted in Korogocho, and built almost entirely on the goodwill of individual donors and volunteers. In June 2026, we formally became Destiny Shapers Global Foundation (DSGF), a registered Non-Governmental Organisation—same mission, greater reach, still rooted in Korogocho.

What This Means in Practice

We remain, at heart, a community organisation. NGO status simply gives that community more room to grow.
